For this project, we were invited to collaborate with @projectotasa and in each product, recall the primordial character of containers as timeless objects, in an attempt to assume and rehabilitate the singularity of natural materials as well as the greatness of the traditional techniques applied.

SEED BOWLS
The art of working with copper arises from hammering the sheet, shaping it into distinct forms and volumes. Initially, we questioned how to attribute value, volume, and visual weight to a flat copper sheet. This inquiry led us to create a double layered piece, where the inner void is perceived as volume. The combination with decorative textures developed by Jurgen brings the piece to life, resembling seeds about to germinate.

A arte do trabalho em cobre surge do martelar da chapa, que a molda em formas e volumes distintos. Inicialmente, questionávamos como atribuir valor, volume e peso visual a uma chapa plana de cobre. Essa indagação levou-nos a criar uma peça dupla, onde o vazio interior é percebido como volume. A combinação com texturas decorativas que o Jurgen desenvolveu dão vida à peça, assemelhando-se a sementes prestes a germinar.

Inspired by the splendour of the Islamic Baths in Loulé, where a wealth of fragmented pieces reveals a meticulous process of reconstruction, we felt compelled to reflect on reproducing this blend of forms. However, when moulded on the potter's wheel, everything transforms and unites in surprising ways. Ricardo's masterful hands capture the form in each piece, but the result is unique and unrepeatable.

In addition to the better-known palm works, there are museum references that showcase a meticulous, careful, and delicate use of an even finer palm than usual. This was the challenge we presented to Sonia Mendez, whose skill enabled us to create shapes inspired by the Arab influences of Algarve chimneys. These shapes were simplified to highlight the expertise and precision of the work.
